Well today marks the one year anniversary of when my grandma passed away. On one hand I can't believe it's been a year because I think it went fast and on the other it has been a long time since I got to talk to her. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about her. I still miss her like crazy and going out to the cemetery today wasn't any easier.
On this Mothers Day I still wanna say thank you grandma for the time you gave us all. You will never be forgotten. I hope someday I can be the kind of grandma for my family that you were for me!! Love you and miss you a TON!!!!!

I have to confess...... I have been posting everything I was here on my facebook. Not sure if I have any readers on here anymore. It got to where I felt like my only readers were my husband, brother and sister in law. so since they are all on Facebook I figured why waste my time with a blog too.
The other day I signed on to here and figured I wanted to read all of my previous blog posts before deleting my entire blog and closing it down. So as I sat here and read all of my old posts, tears came pouring I mean pouring down my face when I got to this time last year. that was when we lost my grandma. I couldn't make myself delete my blog as I am not ready to delete that portion of my life yet. I did find it very comforting though to read the old posts and find that I am healing. I still miss her everyday and can cry a good cry here and there but I have come a long way!!
That day I also realized that I kind of miss writing a blog about what's going on. So between the 2 factors, I am going to continue to keep my blog open. I am going to give it an honest effort to start blogging on a regular basis again. Even if I only have 3 readers!

ok ok let's get off this blog Vacation I have been on!....

Here's some random stuff.....

1. 4 weeks from today I will be enjoying a 2nd honeymoon with my husband on a floating buffet around the Hawaiian Islands!
2. On that trip I will quench my lifelong desire to have a massage ocean side!
3. around that same time I will have a son who will be out of the 1st grade and ready for 2nd grade!!!!
4. my husband is off school for a few weeks so we are all enjoying him being around more and not having homework!
5. I have been very inspired by the show Biggest Loser. If they can do it with all of their extra weight, why am I not kicking but at the gym? I have definitely been pushing myself more!
6. I have to decorate my son's teacher's door on Monday morning for teacher Appreciation week.....any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! :) p.s. next year I am throwing away that slip that you sign if you wanna be homeroom mom before I have a chance to sign it!!
7. I am hoping I can stick with this blog thing again.....
8. I am actually getting excited for the summer (not errands in the heat) but playing on the waterslide with the boys!
9. ok so I was gonna try and think of 10 random things to post but I can't think of anything else.....so this is all you get!!!

I can't believe that my baby is turning 4 on Wednesday!!! where has the time gone? All I can tell you is that I have loved every minute of it! God has truly blessed David and I with some awesome boys! They are both so smart, tender hearted, funny, loving, and wow my list could go on and on!! Not a day goes by that they don't amaze me with something they do or say. ok ok I'll stop there.....

NBA Jam Session

Tonight we went to the NBA Jam Session. Can I just say I am thankful David's and my tickets were FREE! The kids had a great time but it was way overpriced!!

Ok so we worked through the rain today. (The things we do for our kids!). Looks like because of the times we had to stop and let it pour, we won't be finished today. Our garage definitely has a lot less wood in it though!!!! We are close!
After our 22 hours of working on the play set the kids and I baked some cupcakes. It was a nice change to be in the warmth of my house than outside in the rain building a play set. I hope this rain stops some day so we can finish and the kids can finally enjoy all of our work!

We got the boys a new playset. They are so anxious for it to be done. The instructions quote a finish time of 24 hours. So far we are approx 9 hours in! hmmm wondering if we are ahead of schedule or behind.....
The boys are trying to help David. I think they think if they help he may finish quicker. Last night Taylor brought him out a bottle of water cause he knew his daddy must be thirsty from working so hard. Here are some pictures from today (day 2).

Fireman Trevor!

The other night Trevor and I went to my friend's husband's fire station. Trevor thought it was so fun he got to eat with the firefighters, watch them get a call, ride in the firetruck, tour their new station while they called him "Captain" the entire time, and spray the house. Just like any boy his age he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up so this was SO exciting for him!! he had a blast!!

1. I USED TO DO TONS OF PAINTINGS IN HIGH SCHOOL BUT NOW I JUST DON'T MAKE TIME FOR THAT SORT OF THING.

2. I CAN'T STAY AWAKE DURING A MOVIE TO SAVE MY LIFE.

3. I HATE RUNNING WITH A PASSION... BUT AFTER YOU HAVE HAD 2 KIDS YOU DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO TO NOT LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE.

4. I THINK MY HUSBAND IS VERY HARD WORKING AND COMPASSIONATE AND WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR ANYBODY.

5. WAS BUMMED BOTH TIMES THAT I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT WITH BOYS BUT COULDN'T IMAGINE IT ANY OTHER WAY! NOT SURE IF I HAVE THE PATIENCE FOR GIRLS!!!!

6. I CANNOT STAND ANY CONSTANT NOISE. SUCH AS PEOPLE CHEWING, SIPPING, TAPPING, AND SPINNING. IT DRIVES ME ABSOLUTELY NUTS!!!

7. I ACTUALLY LOVE GOING TO WORK! I LOVE THE PEOPLE I WORK WITH AND MY CLIENTS AS FAMILY AND IT GIVES ME A HEALTHY BREAK FROM MY KIDS!! (STAY AT HOME MOM IS NOT AN OCCUPATION FOR ME AT ALL!!)

8. I HATE PLACES THAT ARE COLD! I GUESS PHOENIX IS FOR ME THEN!

9. I DON'T GO A DAY WITHOUT TALKING TO MY MOM EITHER IN PERSON OR ON THE PHONE.

10. I AM NOT MUCH OF A CUDDLER BUT THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT KNOWING THAT MY BOYS ARE GROWING UP FAST MAKES ME LOVE TO CUDDLE WITH THEM.

11. LOSING MY GRANDMA IN MAY WAS THE MOST DEPRESSING THING I HAVE EVER HAD TO GO THROUGH IN MY LIFE. IT HAS MADE ME REALIZE THAT LIFE IS FRAGILE SO ENJOY EVERY MOMENT YOU HAVE WITH THE ONES YOU LOVE! AND THERE MAY BE THINGS ABOUT PEOPLE THAT ANNOY YOU BUT WHEN THEY ARE GONE, THOSE WILL BE THE THINGS YOU MISS MOST.

12. I HAVE A DEAL WORKED OUT WITH MY BROTHER AND SISTER IN LAW THAT NEITHER OF US ARE EVER ALLOWED TO GET A CAT OR A MINIVAN. IF THE PACT IS BROKEN THERE WILL BE $300 EXCHANGED.

13. MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIMES IS GREASE...... WHICH WOULD EXPLAIN MY LOVE FOR HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL! LOL TOOK THE BOYS TO SEE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL ON ICE YESTERDAY UNDER THE DISGUISE THAT IT WAS FOR THEM.

14. AFTER MY RIDE ON THE LIGHTRAIL YESTERDAY I AM REALIZING THAT I HAVE MORE COMPASSION ON THE HOMELESS THAN I EVER HAD. THEY USED TO CREEP ME OUT AND NOW EVEN THOUGH I UNDERSTAND THAT MOST ARE IN THEIR SITUATION BECAUSE OF THEIR OWN MISTAKES, I FEEL LIKE I DON'T DESERVE THE LIFE GOD HAS BLESSED ME WITH OR MORE IMPORTANTLY......HE HAS BLESSED ME BECAUSE MY RESPONSIBILITY IS TO SHARE. Both of my boys are so pumped! THIS IS MONSTER JAM WEEKEND!!!!!! they have been waiting since last January (when we attended the last one) for this weekend to come! Tonight I took them out so they could see the Grave Digger up close and get an autograph. Tomorrow night is the rally. If you know us, you know monster trucks are a staple in our house..... but I just have to tell you that right now it is monster truck madness!!! these boys can't wait!!!!

This morning David, my dad and I did the PF Chang's half marathon with some of my friends from work and like 23,000 other people. It is a weird feeling.... I like the accomplishment but hate the pain!! I was able to get to 7 miles no problem and then my right knee gave out on me!! the next 6.1 miles were the longest miles of my life!!! I tried to crank out the last little bit but it made my run turn more into a trot!!! lame huh!! but as soon as I crossed the finish line I had the greatest relief! I was done and I did FINISH!!! :) I also have to give major props to my Dad for doing it with us this year!!!! that was way awesome!!!! don't ask me today if I am gonna do it next year! we'll talk later!! hehe ( I have to forget this pain!)
P.S> our shop this year picked to support our troops for the half marathon! With the money that we raised we are gonna ship over care packages to some men and women who really rock!!! When my knee was ACHING I just kept telling myself this was a small price to pay for the big sacrifice that those men and women make!! thank you troops for our freedom!!

My Brave Son!!

This morning Trevor had another surgery on his tear ducts. This was his 3rd procedure to try and open up his tear ducts. He was so excited to go there this morning cause he said, "they are gonna fix my eyes!!" I could not get over how good of a patient he was!! He didn't act afraid at all. He was so brave! When they FINALLY let me go see him in recovery, he was just patiently laying in the bed waiting! Other kids were crying but he just laid there letting them do whatever was necessary!! GOOD JOB TREVY!!!! :)

Ok so as tomorrow begins my mass panic to get back in the groove for my half marathon, it got me thinking. I want to be like everyone and get on the New Year's resolution band wagon. No not to hit the gym or exercise(since I already do that) but to eat HEALTHIER!! I am not looking for a "diet" since I am pretty much ok with what my scale says but I want to eat more natural foods, not processed. I want my body to cycle through like it should if you catch my drift! I am bad at eating vegetables, I love red meats, etc.......
I am a complete dumby when it comes to health & fitness. this year has been challenging as I have had to actually teach myself how to run and work out at a gym. I have been loving my new challenge! It makes me not such a stressed out mess and it just gives me self confidence. The only thing is, my motto right now is "I workout so I can eat whatever I want!" (probably not a good attitude!)
I have been learning a lot by running and fitness magazines that I get. David will try to give me pointers but for some reason, reading them in a magazine and seeing a photo of someone demonstrating it, I catch on better. With that being said, I am wondering if anybody has any helpful books or magazines that they know of that will help me with my new adventure of eating "healthier". Everybody keeps telling me, "eat more fiber, more fruits and vegetables, etc etc" That is just not doing it for me, I need a plan spelled out for me!!! So hopefully also by posting my new challenge here, I will stick to it!! :)
Please if you have any reading material ideas for me let me know!! Just checked Amazon and there are a bazillion books to choose from! not sure where to start!
BTW 14 days till the half marathon!!! getting nervous!!

Well with 08 here and gone in a blink of an eye, I thought I better take a second to reflect on where I have been and what I hope to change/ accomplish in 09!

2008:
5. I actually rang in the New Year at a huge party in Disneyland and stayed up till midnight!
4. joined a gym for the 1st time in my life and have been working on my running
3. realized how fragile life is and have learned to let the little things pass
2. Admired my husband's ability to maintain a family, job, and schooling while letting none of the areas lack!
1. lost my Grandma who meant more to me than she ever knew.

and to 2009....things I hope to accomplish or am looking forward to:
5: Be able to enjoy my cruise to Hawaii with my husband while knowing that my kids are safe at home! :)
4. run my half marathon in under 2:45.
3. better my outlook on people who just don't seem to care about their own life and who don't care to make it better.
2. Eat healthier and get back to being disciplined after this long Christmas Break! (not just a new years resolution, I am craving it!)
1. I am gonna be a better wife and mom. not that I was horrible, it's just we can all use a little improvement right!?!!?

Disneyland

We had the best time in Disneyland!! An exhausting time but definitely fun!! Seeing as we decided to take the kids to Disneyland during their busiest season, we would wake up very early to try and be at the park just as it was opening. That way we would have at least an hour to crank out a few rides with little wait! If you know me, my idea of vacationing is not getting up at 6:30am!! hehehe
Other than that it was so awesome to just spend 5 days with my 3 favorite guys! To see the excitement on the kids' faces was so worth it. The 2nd day in the park we had breakfast with the characters. That was so worth the money!
Well I am not gonna write too much about the trip as I mentioned before that I am beat! I just wanted to get a few pictures up to show you how awesome it was!!
(a HUGE thank you to my 2 boys who made me so proud waiting in all the looooong lines!!! when all the kids around you are swinging on the railing(one of my petpeeves) my kids were standing in line like a trooper not acting up! :) thanks guys!!)

A Wonderful Christmas....

Well besides my constant headache throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I would say it was a good year!! We had 4 Christmases to do this year and we survived! Christmas morning was my favorite part as it is every year! We had to wake the boys up at about 7:55 cause I was getting anxious and I wanted to have time to play with them and their toys before going to our 1st stop of the day. They were both very excited to see that Santa got them their ipods. Taylor showed so much excitement over the presents this year as he actually had asked for certain gifts. Trevor would just open something and say' "I always wanted this!" What a day in overload if I must say so myself! here are a couple of pictures from yesterday.

Craft Night

Tonight David and I helped the boys make a Christmas craft. Trevor and
I made a snow globe and Taylor and David made Santa's house. All I can
say is foam crafts are progressing! I can't really stand how popular
all the foam stickers and stuff have become! where is the creativity?
However walking through Michaels today my boys saw these foam kits and
wanted them. I thought they looked pretty nice for what they were so I
let them get them. They actually filled up a lot of time..... (it
takes a 3yr old a long time to decorate a tree with tiny foam dots!) I
think they turned out awesome!!! good job Taylor and Trevor!!!

Turkey Trot

This morning we got up at 6:45am to go run in a Turkey Trot up in Anthem! It was so fun! It has become a tradition that we do every year. This year i am excited to say that we got my parents up there again and my dad did the 5k! He did awesome!! I will post a picture of him coming up to the finish line! oh yah and right after my dad crossed the finish line it started POURING RAIN!! not drizzling, pouring!! perfect timing!!!
I am also excited to say I beat my time! I was able to run it the ENTIRE 3.1 miles!! usually I would have to walk it out a couple of times. I did it in 32 minutes but hey, it is my personal best so I did good!
The boys did the kids trot and this year was Trevor's first year to run in a race! I was running along side him and he said, "Mom get up to the finish line so you can cheer for me!" cute right!

Thankful

Every night as a family we say a prayer together, hug as we all say "our family!", and put our hands in as a team and say "2,4,6,8 who do we appreciate? our family rocks the socks!"So last night as we were doing our nightly routine I decided that for this week we were gonna add one more thing to it. We all went around and said one thing we were thankful for. I think sometimes as we get wrapped up in our daily stuff, we forget to be thankful for even the small things! Even some of the things that stress us out the most are things that we should be thankful for! I read in an email the other day and it said "if your job stresses you out just be thankful you HAVE a job!"At least once a week I have a client come in and tell me they were laid off so I said I am thankful to have my job.
It almost brought tears to my eyes as we went around the circle last night. I love listening to my kids' perspective on things. Taylor said he was thankful for our house and Trevor said he was thankful for crafts! oh to be 3 years old again! Just the innocence in those little boys, as David and I are looking at the big picture of life. After hearing the boys replies, tonight I want to try to simplify my life and break it down...... I am going to think of something that may be "little and unimportant" but I am going to make known that I notice it and am thankful that it is there!! who knows we may find that this is a positive way to end a long day and add this to our routine!
So I know more people read this blog than actually ever comment and I am asking you for just this one blog to break out of your shell and comment!! Since it is the week of Thanksgiving I want to know what you guys are all thankful for! It is an awesome feeling to slow down and reflect!

Today was so fun! (not while I was doing it) I went with Katie and Tracy and we ran in a 10k. Can I just say we were so nervous waiting for it to start! We were walking around before the race trying to find people that looked like they were in worse shape than we were! We did not want to be last if you know what I mean!!! We had no clue at this point why we thought we could run a 10k!! But we signed up for it and we were gonna finish it!!! We finished but somewhere along the 6.2 miles I think I twisted my knee or something! I might need a hip replacement also! My right leg was killing me from about mile 4! There were times I had to slow down and walk it out for fear I was gonna fall! and that would have been embarrassing!! What a rush going over the finish line though!!!! :) My mom and Reilly came along to cheer us on!! My nephew is so cute by the way!! Well here are some pictures we took after the race. I will post them and then I am off to bed to rest the lower portion of my body! I hope I will be able to get back out of bed when my nap is over!! YIKES!

My Little Ridemakerz

So today I decided that after I picked Tay up from school we were gonna do something fun!! I took them out to Westgate and we went to Ridemakerz. It is like Build A Bear but you make cars and trucks instead! Genius!! This is right up their alley!!! I am already having requests to have the next birthday party there!! Uh yah if we only invite like 2 or 3 other boys!! Here are some pictures that I took of them while we were there and some of their finished products! Let's just say I am now the coolest mom out there!! :) Well my 2 boys think I am!!! ;)

1st Field Trip!!!

Yesterday was Trevy's 1st field trip! He was so excited! He has been on field trips before but they were for Taylor. This was something that was for him and only him!!! We went to the Train Park. It was a lot of playing on the playground, snacking, riding the train(as you can see he chose to ride in the cattle car, I didn't!!),riding the carousel, and then at the end of the field trip his friend's family treated the class to ice cream. He didn't even make it to the freeway before he fell asleep! must have been a great time, it wore him out! I wanted to fall asleep when he did!!!!

Sorry I haven't really blogged in a couple of weeks. I have been falling down on the job!!

Well last night I went out to the casino and put $10 in a slot machine and walked away with a ticket that said $126!!!!!!!! Factoring in my losses, I walked out of there last night $96 richer!!! :) It is so much fun to win (I don't ever win!)

Then this morning we got up at 5:30am to go run in a 5k..... What did I learn??? I need to train more!!!! Was hoping for a better time but I will have to be content with my 35min time. Guess I know what I will be doing from now till Nov when I will be doing a 10k with Katie. (Don't worry Katie, you will smoke me!!! But remember you are 5yrs younger than me!! When you hit 28, its downhill!!!)

Speaking of age..... HAPPY 29th BIRTHDAY to my WONDERFUL husband!!!!!!!!!!! Tonight the boys are throwing their Daddy a surprise party!! Can't wait!! They have been carefully planning the big night. According to them...'They can't wait to see their daddy's face when he sees the surprise party!!!' Little do they know though...... 6 and 3yr olds are horrible at keeping the surprise in a surprise party!!! Hahahha

Race for the Cure!

Well today we kicked off our running season with a Race for the Cure 5k. The weather was so beautiful for it! (It reminds me why I stand the heat for the other months here!!)
Taylor did so good! Even after biffing it on all fours while running, he got back up and started running again!!! I had to keep remembering, it took him 2 steps to my every one! He was very excited to see the finish line!! :)

Small Yet Big!!

Well it is that time of year again where my work picks an organization that they will support by doing the PF Chang's Half Marathon. It is such an exciting time as we are training for our 13.1 miles and our clients are holding us accountable because they have "bought" into our idea and plan!! This year we chose Packages from Home. It is a local organization here and it was started by a mother who's son is in the military. PFH collects items and the money to ship the items and then they send care packages overseas to all of our military men and women. We toured the center today and I have to admit it, I got teary eyed (ok I cried!!!) Just seeing these boxes full of items we don't even think twice about using and they were just sitting there waiting to be shipped to our military who will receive these items and be stoked!! The walls were full of thank you letters that the troops have written to show their appreciation! yah couldn't even read those!! too emotional!!!!
Well I have already started my actual training and the Packages From Home Drive will start here in the next couple of weeks!! I am so excited to see how our clients will respond and what kind of support we will receive!!

1st OFFICIAL Day of School

So today was actually Trevor's first day without me there! Yesterday we had to stay and hang out. He was so bummed that I had to stay yesterday! He wanted me to drop him off and go! ahhh that makes life so much easier as a mom when your kids have that attitude! There were kids today who were SCREAMING as their parents walked out the door (notice the one in the back of the picture where he is at his table). Mine couldn't wait for me to leave!! and in case you are wondering, I DID FINE!! NO TEARS!! like I said, when your child is happy and secure, you feel at ease!!

Oh and about his hair, if you see him, tell him you saw his 1st day of school pictures and his hair looked like the guy from Guitar Hero. That was his "specific" request today for his hair style. I tried to just spike up his hair and I looked over at him and he was combing it into a mohawk.

On the way home I was asking him how his day was and he told me that he now has a girlfriend. I still can't understand her name. believe me, I will get to the bottom of that one tomorrow!!! Then a few minutes later he held up 3 fingers and said "I have this many girlfriends." Ladies stay away from MY son!!! (I think my precious, little, innocent boys are around teenagers way too much!!!!!!)

well that is his first day in a nutshell! and about me, I enjoyed my ME time at the gym!!! Better not enjoy it too much, I may never want anymore kids!

I have a very excited 3 year old on my hands today! Today is Trevor's first day of preschool. He has been waiting for this day as long as Taylor has been in school. I looked at him this morning and said, "Trevor I don't want you to go to school!! :(" Then he said, "Sorry Mom I need to go to school all winter!" I keep looking at him thinking he isn't big enough to go!...... ok well before I get all sappy, here are some pictures of my excited boy!

Much Needed Vacation!

Well we just got back from the Grand Canyon! It is so beautiful up there!!! I want to go back and hike the 3 day hike!!! It was hard to really go far with the kids but they were awesome and did the 3 mile hike with us today! Taylor was such a trooper, never complaining about being tired! He was having so much fun. Trevor thought it was the coolest thing that he was actually getting to hike too! He was carried by David most of the way though. Everybody we passed by kept saying that he had the best seat in the house.

Right now we are enjoying such an awesome place! The Grand Canyon!! We went on a walk around the rim today and in the middle of the walk, Tay asked if we could stop and pray to God and thank him and tell him how awesome everything that he had made was. Can I just say Dave and I were both teary eyed from the prayer!! I love it!! What an observant and thankful heart he has!!!
Ok we just finished a yummy dinner and now it is time to go back to the campsite and make smores!!

Annoyed!!!

Ok so just like EVERY year at this time, I received a statement telling us how much our medical insurance would be going up every month for the following year!!! WOW!!!! I guess insurance companies think I magically make $140 a month more than I did last year!!!! So once again I got a demotion! Yeah!
Can I just tell you I spent forever on the phone with insurance companies today! I would call one number and they would say oh you need to call 1-800-............ So I would call them and they would say oh you need to call 1-800-.............. So I would call them and they would say oh you need to call 1-800-..............So I would call them and they would say oh you need to call 1-800-.............. Are you getting where I am going with this? Does anybody know what their job is? Or is there anybody that can help me? I am now thinking it will be better to add the 3 of them to my insurance plan. Not the best plan but will make more sense.
So sorry I just had to vent!!! Still haven't found out how I am supposed to add them. Ugh

So the other day Taylor started singing a jingle. David and I were dying laughing because he was singing an entire "freecreditreport.com" commercial!! I know he watches a lot of TV but I didn't know THAT much!!! These companies know what they are definitely doing by making these catchy jingles! My son now knows how to go about not having his identity stolen!!

Buying a Car

Ok so while Trevor is in preschool this year, I figured I would start working out at a gym. I am still hiking, but i need to start exercising more if I want to keep up my eating habits (Culvers!) Plus with gas prices where they are, it is cheaper to join a gym and stay right near the school so I can pick him up.
Well this morning after dropping Tay off at school I went to LA Fitness to check their rates. What a joke. It starts off that they can't give me a piece of paper to take to David to show him the different prices, I have to sit down at a desk so a guy can go over them with me. He starts by telling me I can do a package that is like $174 app fee and 34.99 a month. or I can do one that is $299 app fee and only 19.99 a month. He then asked me what was holding me back, I go "Uhm the $300 start up fee!!" He then says well we are running a promotion today with Devry Institute and I can include you in on that deal and get you a membership at $74 app fee and only 24.99 a month. ok so I went from a 300 start up to only 74!!!!! in only 2 minutes!!! why can't they just make prices black and white! I told him I would think about it, he took my phone number so I should be receiving a call from him in a few hours! hahaha
then I got home and called Pure Fitness, they can't quote me over the phone they want me to make an appointment to come in and sit down with a salesman. ugh!!
I AM NOT BUYING A CAR, I JUST WANT TO JOIN A GYM!!!

A HUGE Success!!

So like any nervous parent, I worried about how Tay's first day of school was going all day!!! When it was FINALLY our turn in the drive to pick him up in the loading zone, he came out to the car looking kind of confused! :( As soon as he got in the car though, he yells, "that was the best day ever!!!!!" phew was I relieved! He just kept going on and on about how he got to see all his old friends, the lunch I made him was his favorite!, his teacher was sooo nice and cool, he had stories read to him, and his special for the day was art(his favorite!) I love the excitement!! Let's hope it continues!!!
After we dropped him off, we had some errands to run. first stop was getting my hair done..... there we gained our newest member to the household- a lizard named Little Rascal! yeah that's right, we found a lizard in the shop and Trevy wanted to keep it as a pet and name it. let's guess as to how long he will live in the habitat that David took him to get!
Then we drove out to Ikea. I love just walking around that place! Trev kept thanking us for bringing him out there cause it is his favorite place! LOL I think he only loved it because he was able to eat macaroni and cheese there!
I enjoyed today with David and Trevor. With Trev being the youngest, I enjoy the days that David and I get to spend with him. It gives him time to shine!

First Day Of School

Ok so right now I am in the car after dropping Tay off for his first day of 1st grade. Not know at what age it is uncool for us to walk him up, we asked him if he just wanted us to drop him off or walk up with him. He said he wanted us to walk him up! Yippee!!! :) so as soon as we got to where he was to put his backpack to line up he said, "ok guys, you can leave, I am going to go play on the big playground!" Kinda sad for me, he didn't need me there anymore! :( but then to my excitement he said,"wait before you leave, GROUP HUG!" So there we were, all four of us doing a family hug! So maybe next year will be the year that I get brushed off quickly. I will enjoy it until then! :) When I get home I will post more pics, they are on my actual camera.

So we learned that we can pull off a 5th birthday party in 1 hour. Poor Gabby found out 90 minutes before her party started that "THE LITTLE GYM" has closed it's doors for good!!! Today so far has been a fun day!!! I must say day 1 of my 4 days off was what I wanted to get out of this weekend!! We don't have huge plans, just somethings here and there but nothing that took all 4 days! My goal these next few days it to take some time just enjoying my kids, my husband, and my home!
This morning and afternoon we played out on the water slide and just laid in the play pool! It is so much fun when you can slow down and get down to the maturity of your kids and play with them! no responsibilities! David and I may be to big for the waterslide but it didn't stop us! sorry there are no pictures of us going down the slide..... I don't allow them! Now the rest of the family is taking a nap. I probably should but I am just enjoying a quiet house! :)

This 4th of July brings more meaning to me than any other year. As I am writing this my brother is in Iraq protecting our freedom!
I am also excited to say that our prayers have been answered the way we hoped and he is going to be on a flight home in a few hours so he can come back and experience the birth of his 1st son!!!!!!!!!!! Just the thought brings me tears of JOY! He will have to go back after only a couple of days with Reilly but he'll take what he is given!!!!! I am so excited for their new addition! Thanks Katie for being such a supportive wife! :)

What you are looking at is something I hope was a success! For every holiday, I would ask my grandma for her Cherry Coke Jello recipe. She would just go on about how easy it was and that she would like to just make it for the dinner. So for the 4th my family is all getting together and I thought the Jello would be perfect to bring. Kind of a problem though.... The recipe we found doesn't explain how much of it is coke and how much is water. Basically the recipe is a list of ingredients. No instructions!!!!! So tonight I guessed my way through the whole thing. It looks like it is supposed to! Think that's all that matters? Oh I hope it turned out! I loved her coke jello and I wanna keep it going! This is one of the many times I wish I could just talk to her one more time! Except she still would have never given me the recipe, she would have just made it for tomorrow. Ok wow it doesn't take much for me to get emotional these days. I am tearing up over quality of my 4th of July dish! I know it's not just that, the thought of another family gathering without her drives me nuts!

Miss you tons Grandma. Not an hour goes by that I don't think about you!!! Each day brings more reality and challenges......and proves what a big part of my life you were! I love you always and forever! Thanks again for everything! I do wish that at least 1 time you would have let me make the Coke Jello!!!!!!!!

After braving the entire summer last year, I am pleased to announce I don't have to do it again this year! Where were these great misting systems last year? Today on my hike I had this puppy strapped on an misting me! (Ok so it isn't the coolest looking thing but who cares!) The packaing says it will cool the area 30 degrees. My Day

Well Today was a busy day! It started early as I had to get the kids to VBS by 9! (That's early for me!) They had a blast! It was so weird for me though cause I always have Trevor when I drop Tay off at school, but today I dropped them both off!!! I had 3 hours to do what "I" wanted! Funny though, I spent the whole time setting up their new aquarium. We bought it yesterday and put 3 fish in it.... by 8:30pm (5 hours after we bought them) they were all dead! So today my task was more fish and make sure the water in the aquarium was conditioned properly....fun... so far so good! They still have 4 fish, Lightening McQueen, Tow Mater, Mauri, & Phantoka!
After I picked them up, we went out the the cemetery to bring flowers. Can't believe tomorrow is a month that Grandma passed away. Time flies even when you aren't having fun. When we were there, Taylor said, "Mom can I ask you a question?" I said sure....... he asked, "Mom would people please stop dying??" ahhhh It is hard enough handling your own sadness, but when you see it affecting your children it hurts bad!
When we left there, we went back to the house so we could start cleaning out some of her stuff. It is so hard to know where to start. I think we made a lot of progress, even though it doesn't look like we did!
We finished up the night making David's father's day present! I can't wait to see the kids give them to him! I just know he will love them! (David, you better pretend even if you don't!!)
Ok off to bed to do it all over again tomorrow! well not the same activities but to be busy I'm sure!

As The Weather Heats Up.....

Yesterday we had Lisa, Hannah, and Gabby over for tons of fun! The kids played in the water until they couldn't play anymore! Taylor is getting pretty good at the Slip n slide. it was fun watching the other kids get the hang of it! They are so cute. Plus it was such a beautiful day!! Last night the big slide we ordered for Tay's birthday came! We are such fun parents, we set it up at 9pm and let the boys play on it. Where else besides Phoenix can you set up a water slide at 9 at night and play on it!! I have to admit I got a bit chilled but it was fun!!!
Tomorrow we are going swimming with Lisa and the girls! should be a great time!! I am enjoying the summer activities so far!! :)

Needed Vacation

Just got back from the hotel. I needed a day to just do nothing. The boys had a great time swimming. Taylor was doing awesome with swimming. He was a little hesitant at first but after a few minutes, he picked up right where he was last summer. I think even better!! He was swimming pretty good! yeah! Now time to work on Trevor! He is pretty confident though so hopefully it won't be long!
It was a great time!!!! Already planning the next time! (Tay wants it to be what we do with him for his Birthday as a family)

So I haven't blogged in a while. I am not sure if it is because there hasn't been anything new to blog or I am just tired lately. My brain hasn't wanted to think! I am looking forward to this weekend, we are gonna stay in a hotel to pretend we are on vacation! Sitting out by the pool and enjoying the weather is good enough for me! I just need some sort of relaxation!!
The boys are doing good. We are just trying to think of creative ways to fill up our summer. So far they have gone to the movies, went swimming at their friend Dara's house, and bickered! the last one is the biggest time consumer!!! LOL
Ok gotta go get ready, gonna meet some friends up at the mall for some lunch and fun......

.... OUCH! I see people on the news doing it all the time so I thought it was the thing to do! My response is~ at least I am trying to be in shape no matter the cost right?!?!
Ok so after 30 minutes of playing it I am a little sore, have learned that I have no balance, found out that Trevor is better at the soccer game than me, and that I can't ski. It is so fun but it doesn't do much for your self esteem!!! it says my Wii Fit age is 38! better work on improving that!!!!!

Kindergarten is almost OVER! :(

Last night was Taylor's end of the year celebration. It was so cute! They sang songs and then showed a slide show of all the kindergarten kids. He thought it was so cool cause most of the family came to see it. He loves being the center of attention... and there he is, front row and in the center. He was even dancing here and there. LOL he didn't get those genes from us!
Can't believe, tomorrow at 12:10 he will officially no longer be a kindergartener! 1st grade here we come!! YIKES!!!!
It was so cute, his friend Dara gave him a note last night. I think that was when it hit....... They are old enough to read and write letters. she gave it to him and he actually sat there reading what she wrote!!!! just like it was natural!!
I need to stop blinking because my boys are growing up too fast!!!

Family Time

Today I have not had an agenda!!! I slept in till 7:30! We have just been catching up on everything we haven't had time to do in the past week and a half. Tonight was fun, we took the kids up to the park so they could play in the water. I can't believe it is already hot enough for it! Summer is here!! Can't wait Tay only has 2 1/2 days left of school this year!! Yikes then I will have a 1st grader and a preschooler!!! I am not getting any older though!! Ok gotta go watch a movie with my guys......

Time To Heal

Today on the way to the airport, we went out to visit the cemetery. I just still can't believe it's true. I just stared at the headstone in disbelief. My Grandpa and Grandma are both there. so weird.
Now starts the healing process. I don't have funeral arrangements to keep me busy. I have to go about my normal routine without Grandma. I need to try to get some sleep and ease my heartburn. My body doesn't handle stress very well! At this point it is hard to imagine things getting back to normal. I know that they will over time though. Please keep my family in your prayers as I think the post funeral is a more stressful time than the funeral planning.

Very Hard Day

How can a day be so hard, exhausting, and beautiful all in the same day? and at the same event? My Grandma's funeral was today and I have to say it was the most beautiful funeral I had ever been to. I know for sure that it would have been the way she would have had it. It was so hard to see her just laying there lifeless but she was so beautiful. She just had the look of peace. The flowers were all so wonderful and her casket looked more like a Cadillac than a casket. Austin led the singing and she would have just bragged on and on about the wonderful job he did! Mike spoke about her so nicely. you can tell she was a very loved woman! Thanks to my husband for preparing a nice service for her. She always loved hearing his preaching so I just know that would have brought her great joy also. I was able to read my letter to Grandma. what an accomplishment for me. Didn't think I would ever be able to do it but the strength came! thanks to everyone that took time out of their busy schedules to come to the funeral, serve us meals, write us cards, and just pray for our family's comfort. We appreciate it all!
the pictures are from tonight. many of the family members have to go back tomorrow so after a nap this afternoon, we went out to WestGate. The second picture is of my mom's 3 grandsons! the last one is of my cousin Keri's daughter, my cousin Dawn's daughter, and my boys. they had so much fun together. cute ages!
can't believe tomorrow will be a week with out Grandma............................ well gotta get to bed, long day of work tomorrow. just need to get through it and then I can have 2 very needed days off! whew what a week............

What Is Important In Life!

Because of my shocking news I got on Saturday at the graduation, I never finished posting about my trip. guess it was because my trip was only 24 hours long. I was so torn. I was having a great time with all my family. Didn't have a chance to tell you that Rob surprised us all and came to the graduation too! I was thinking at lunch on Saturday, it was awesome that my whole family was together and it wasn't a wedding or funeral. I love that about my family. even though we are all so spread out, we try to make it a point to make it to those other important events! But little did I know we would all be getting together the next weekend over a funeral. :(
well the pictures above are of us at peter piper on Friday and waiting for the graduation to start on Saturday. I wanna tell Lisa congrats on all of her hard work! she is a college grad! wow! way smarter than I will ever be!!! I am totally bummed I didn't get to see her walk across the stage. so did she really graduate? hmmmm nah just kidding they tell me she did!
Even though my trip was cut short, I got to spend the little amount of time with the ones that I love! And once again my life was put back in perspective! enjoy the time you have with the ones you love cause it may be the last time you say goodbye.
